Starfruit – fresh and dried

Description

We usually dispatch the starfruit when they are green and firm to ensure the fruit gets to you in good condition. Leave at room temperature and they will ripen within a few days of you receiving the fruit.

Starfruit have 5 ridged egdes and when sliced crossways, the slices are perfect star shapes, hence the name, starfruit.

When picked before being fully ripe, the fruits are firm and green with a crisp citrus like flavour. At this stage they are used for salads and stir fries.

If left to ripen fully, the starfruit change to a bright yellow colour and soften. Once ripe, the starfruit have a sweeter flavour and are then best either juiced or eaten raw out of hand.

Starfruit are also often used for decorative purposes.

Starfruit are a good source of vitamin c and also contain phosphorus, potassium and niacin.

Our dried starfruit is washed, sliced and dehydrated. There are no added ingredients. Snack on our dried star fruit slices or use as a garnish on drinks, cocktails and desserts.
