The spicy, aromatic, dark berries of the Juniper tree either crushed or used whole can be used in casseroles, marinades and stuffings, while they also complement pork, rabbit, venison, beef and duck dishes.

The Juniper berrie also provide the main flavouring for gin, the berry is used to create a distinct taste for gin.
