Blood peach – frozen puree

Description

Blood peaches are recognised by their dark red flesh and smooth velvety skin.

The colour of the flesh varies, but does not usually have a solid blood-red colour, more often yellow flesh with sporadic streaks of red. The flesh is sweet flavoured and has a taste unlike other peach varieties. If the blood peaches are consumed when less ripe they can be acidic but you can be assured of a delicious flavour when using the blood peach puree as the fruits are only processed once perfectly ripe.

As blood peaches become fragile once they’ve ripened, it’s common for the fruits to be pureed and frozen or juiced for future consumption.

They are usually larger than other peach varieties.

You will benefit from an array of vitamins and minerals when consuming blood peaches including potassium, vitamins A and C, dietary fibre, iron and calcium. The fruit also contains antioxidants.
