Blood orange – frozen puree

Description

The blood orange is a natural mutation of the orange. It has crimson, almost blood-coloured flesh.

Some can be tart, while others are sweet, but they all display the characteristic blood orange taste.

The blood oranges can be used to create marmalade, and the zest is used for baking.

Blood oranges are a source of vitamin C like all citrus fruits. A medium-sized orange also provides 28% of the recommended daily intake of dietary fibre.
