Waxberries, native to East Asia, are a delicious small crimson to dark purple coloured fruit with a sweet flavour and bumpy surface. Each fruit has a single seed in the centre which is discarded.

The juice of the waxberry has been commercialised, under the trademarked brand name “Yumberry”.

There are two main types of waxberry. A sour type used for making dried fruit and a sweet type used for juice and eating fresh. Our frozen waxberries are the sweet variety.
