Tamarind sweet

Description

Sweet tamarind is a delicious fruit perfect for snacking. The soft flesh that surrounds the shiny black seeds has a unique flavour that tastes like a mixture of dates and raisins. Some people also compare the flavour to that of cola.

To make a tamarind drink, soak the flesh in a small amount of warm water for 10 mins and then remove the seeds and fibre. After that, simply blend the flesh with cold water and sugar until smooth and then strain.

There are many different varieties of sweet tamarind including sri thong, sri chom phoo, khun tee, inthsplum and prakaitong.
