Physalis – fresh and frozen

Description

Physalis are unsual looking, they resemble a lantern. The small round fruits are surrounded by delicate brown leaves.

The orange coloured fruits are sweet yet citrusy, creating a tangy flavour. More mature fruits tend to be sweeter. They have lots of small seeds, similar in size to those of a kiwi.

One average size physalis weighs 5g.
