Description

Cavendish bananas, the most common banana variety found in the UK are usually harvested very early, in preparation for the long container-ship journey to the UK. The bananas are held in cold storage on the ship to prevent ripening and then either ripened in temperature controlled rooms, or artificially ripened with gasses.

The only cavendish bananas we offer are sent to the UK by air so they can be harvested when more mature and once more flavour and nutrition has developed. They can be ripened naturally by you at home.
