Avocado – Caribbean, Ugandan & Spanish

Description

Our Caribbean avocados grow abundantly on the the tropical islands of St Lucia and Jamaica. They are devoured locally thanks to their creamy and buttery texture and taste. Make sure you leave them to ripen perfectly before eating!

They are round, plump and usually of medium to large size with a fairly large round seed in the centre. They’re harvested when glossy green but ripen to maroon red and eventually deep purple.

The Caribbean avocados are generally considered to well surpass other avocados in terms of quality and taste. Primarily because they are harvested when fully mature then sent to the UK by air, unlike other supermarket avocados which are harvested early and held in refrigeration for extended periods whilst sent to the UK by sea.

The Caribbean avocados vary in size. They weigh between 350g to 550g each with an average size of about 450g.
