Rangpur lime

Description

Our rangpur limes are a unique seeded citrus organically grown on a farm in St Lucia. They are an acidic fruit that, once ripe, resemble a mandarin in appearance and have a complex tangerine-lime flavour.

The flesh is vibrantly orange coloured and the peel is deep green which ripens to a yellow-orange colour. In more tropical climates the peel tends to stay green.

As with many varieties of lime the rangpur is harvested whilst green prior to being fully ripe when it’s the most aromatic and flavoursome. Once fully ripe the juice of the rangpur is sweeter.

In India mandarin juice is improved by adding 20-40% rangpur juice.

In Costa Rica this is one of the most popular varieties of citrus, often favoured over other lemons and limes.
