Passionfruit from St Lucia (wild grown) – fresh and frozen

These passionfruit are harvested from the wild on the tropical island of St Lucia in the Caribbean.

The beauty of these passionfruit is that they’ve been grown entirely by nature, without the need for human intervention, other than to pick, and eat of course! They come in a mixture of colours from green to yellow to purple or even pink. They’re well regarded for their sharp and intense passionfruit flavour plus the sweet aroma which exudes once cut.

The passionfruit are only harvested once they are close to maturity so you should find a healthy portion of deep orange delicious tangy pulp and juice inside.

It’s important to leave passionfruit to mature on the vine for as long as possible in order for the flavour to develop fully. You should note that vine-ripened passionfruit tend to display a more rustic appearance and some wrinkling in the shell – nothing to worry about!
