Melon – ananas – fresh and frozen

Description

The ananas melon has a momentous perfumed aroma when ripe, similar to the scent of a pineapple, hence the name ‘ananas’which translates to pineapple in Italian. It’s flavour radiates sweet, floral notes with a caramel-like aftertaste.

The ananas melon is part of the ‘Cucumis melo’ family which consists of melons with peels covered in a rough netting.

In colour, the ananas melon can range from a golden yellow to a dark green.
