Mango – kiew sawoi

Description

Kiew sawoi is considered the best of the green mango varieties in Thailand. It’s revered by Thai nationals and commands a high price in local markets.

Kiew means green and sawoi means eat.

It’s an oblong variety which is dark green in colour.

The flesh is crisp and sweet with a slight acidity, that is considered by many as the perfect balance of flavours.

This mango evokes flavours of green apple, orange and macadamia nuts.

It’s very suitable for savoury uses and it is used mainly in salads. It also goes well in salsas.

When left to half-ripen it has firm, green-yellow flesh with a medium sweet flavour.
