Jujube

Description

The Jujube is a small oval-shaped fruit.

When immature they are smooth-green, with the consistency and taste similar to an apple, and are usually eaten at this stage of ripeness. Some prized varieties are particularly sweet.

On the tree they mature to a brown-purplish colour, and eventually wrinkle, looking like a small date.

There is a single hard central seed similar to an olive pit.
