Guava €“ white flesh (usually from Asia)

Description

White guava are a common tropical fruit cultivated and enjoyed in many tropical and subtropical regions. They are firm and crisp and best simply eaten out of hand.

The white guava fruits are usually round or oval and vary from around 7-12cm tall.

They have a pronounced and typical fragrance, similar to lemon and pear rind but less sharp and more sweet.

The skin is usually green before maturity, but becomes light green to yellow when ripe.

The pulp inside is sweet to slightly-sweet. In terms of flavour the closest comparison would be pear with hints of apple and melon.
